About the Artist
I have always felt the need to create and finally, as an adult, found my way into the visual arts. I have worked in a variety of mediums for over 20 years including acrylic and colored pencil but definitely found my home in watercolor.
As a self-taught watercolor artist, I am most happy (and sometimes most frustrated) watching water and color mingle on the page. The nature of watercolors has forced me to deal with what some would call my control issues :) and the sometimes unpredictable nature of wet into wet watercolor forces me to "go with the flow".
My current work is a series of large florals. The flow, the movement, the shadows, the highlights - all capture my attention. I love starting with several reference photos from my own stash and usually end up putting those aside and letting the painting guide me where it wants to go.
Along with larger pieces, you will often find me in my studio doodling with colored pencils or working on smaller watercolor and ink pieces of various subjects from flowers to landscapes to urban art or even just the Starbucks cup sitting in my studio (I have a serious Starbucks addiction!).
Sit back, grab a cup of coffee (or wine) and browse through my gallery. More images will be coming soon.
If you need a second cup of coffee (or wine), I hope you will take some time to visit my blog where I will be posting works in progress, some of my doodles and you may see a few choice words when things aren't going well. :)
Oh! And while I am shamelessly promoting myself, I hope you will take a second to like my Facebook page and follow me on Instagram!
